About
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada is a nonprofit dedicated to creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that help young people achieve their full potential. Through carefully matched volunteer mentors ("Bigs") and youth participants ("Littles"), the organization provides guidance, encouragement, and opportunities that promote academic success, social-emotional development, career readiness, and overall well-being. Key resources include trained staff, volunteer mentors, community partners, donor support, and evidence-based mentoring practices. Core processes involve volunteer recruitment and screening, youth enrollment and assessment, mentor-child matching, ongoing match support, and program evaluation. The organization utilizes customer relationship management software, communication platforms, training materials, transportation resources, and event equipment to coordinate programs, track outcomes, and engage families, mentors, schools, and community.
